doc_mystery and I have been on Carribean vacations before, but only one other since our kid was born.  Usually, someone gets sick.  And this one was no exception.  This is the main reason why I am anxious about such trips.  If I'm going to be sick (or nurse a sick kid), I'd rather do it at home.

Just had a strange experience texting with my sister in China on Skype.  Sort of like dueling monologues.  Actually, I was interjecting comments on her story while she just went on and on about her stuff.

Come to think of it, wasn't much different than our real-life "conversations" when she's in the same town.

Okay, so I've learned not to try to discuss sensitive issues via email with someone who doesn't have an Arts degree.  Apparently, they are unable to identify facetiousness and they think "prerequisite" is an insulting word, as in:

Coach: "I don't remember having any lengthy conversations about your daughter's desire to pitch."

After much reflection (and crying) today, I've come up with a new guideline for myself re: how I'm going to get through the next 10 years of chauffeuring my kid to organized sporting events:

"Just show up and shut up".

As you know, the Girl-O, she is very sporty.  I am not.  And yet I am the one with the flexible work schedule, so I do all the scheduling, arranging and chauffering of the Girl-O to her various games.
